The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates branch in Benin held a lecture during a training course at Ibn Battuta University in Porto-Novo, entitled “Computer Technology in Service of Arabic Language Teaching.” The lecture was presented by Sheikh Saleh Samad Ayinde, the Media Officer of the Organization’s branch in Benin.
During the lecture, he emphasized the importance of using modern technology in teaching Arabic, explaining its definition and advantages, noting that it provides an interactive environment for students and improves their skills. He also pointed out that blended learning provides flexibility in ways of learning, combining interactive and in-person education, allowing students to learn at their own pace using electronic tools.
In addition, he explained that project-based learning enhances critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities, and encourages cooperation and teamwork. This develops the ability to use Arabic in realistic situations. He also clarified that multimedia contributes to motivating students in participation and visual and auditory comprehension, and helps strengthen listening and conversation skills.
