
The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates concluded its series of workshops at its Cairo headquarters, attended by 25 international students from Libya, Nigeria, Afghanistan, the Philippines, Yemen, Somalia, Palestine, Djibouti, Burkina Faso, Benin, and Mali.
Prof. Abdul Naeem Arafa, Professor and Head of the Department of Mental Health at the Faculty of Education for Boys, al-Azhar University, delivered the final lecture titled ‘The Rules and Controls of Cognitive Construction in the Field of Mental Health.’ He discussed the concept of cognitive construction, its components, and its significance in mental health. Additionally, he addressed its objectives, rules, and controls, as well as its relationship with cognitive distortions, mental health, and mental disorders.
In conclusion, the Head of the Department of Mental Health at the Faculty of Education, al-Azhar University, emphasized that cognitive structure is crucial in promoting Islamic moderation, reinforcing Azhari approach, combating extremism and destructive ideologies, and spreading moderate thought. He further highlighted that every behavior in life is directly linked to an individual’s way of thinking, as one’s thoughts shape human life.
These workshops are part of the organization’s plan to support and care for international students. They also aim to promote Islamic moderation, reinforce the Azhari approach, combat extremism and destructive ideologies, and spread moderate thought.
