Prof. Ahmad Hussain, Dean of Faculty of Islamic Dawah, highlighted that extremist organizations seek recruiting innocent children and feeding them violence in order to become a tool for carrying out their violent schemes. It is worth mentioning that this lecture entitled “Recruitment of children by terrorist organizations”, which was delivered to international students from Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, Chad and Pakistan is part of “Contemporary Ideologies” training course.
In addition, he pointed to the fact that terrorist groups use violence to enforce their ideologies and make use of children in their terrorist crimes. He also shed light on the factors that facilitate recruitment of children such as: social media and the financial need of poor countries where terrorist groups exist. Moreover, he stressed that international laws as well as divine religions criminalized recruitment of children and considered it an unethical and inhumane action.
At the end of the lecture, he answered questions of the students and listened to their views on recruitment of children.
