Al-Azhar Graduates in Somalia: al-Azhar Approach Establishes Moderation

WOAG branch in Qardho, Somalia, organized a religious lecture under the title of “Be Merciful toward One Another”. The lecture came within the activity carried out by the branch to confront the extremist ideologies, spread the moderate message of Islam, and clarify the tolerant image of Islam.

Sheikh Ahmad Mohammad Ali, a member of the Somalia branch and Imam of al-Salam mosque, said that mercy is one of the Islamic good virtues and morals, which Islam has urged to comply with. He pointed out that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) had come with one single principle which is mercy for all people, amid a society that oppressed women and the weak. He stressed that the message of Islam is for all humanity, to save it from the grip of ignorance and injustice.

The lecture concluded by stressing that al-Azhar approach establishes mercy and moderation, disseminates the values of peaceful coexistence, and denounces violence and extremism worldwide.
