Al-Azhar Graduates in the United Kingdom: Islam Confronts Exaggeration and Intolerance

The branch of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates in the UK hosted Sheikh Hany Saad al-Azhari, Imam of al-Ahar mosque, as they held many events, including a lecture entitled: “Moderation in Islam” as part of the branch’s role to confront exaggeration and intolerance among youth.

It is worth mentioning that the Imam of al-Azhar mosque explained that Islam is a moderate religion and moderation is one of the key features of which Allah characterized the Islamic Ummah, indicating that Islam is alienated from exaggeration, intolerance, and extremism, as its consequence is doom. Needless to say that the Prophet resisted every tendency that calls for extremism in religiosity and denounced extremism. Hani Al-Azhari pointed to the great role of scholars in confronting extremism and said that one of the most important means of confronting extremism is to urge all people to refer to scholars and specialists in the matter of fatwas, prevent those who opine unknowingly and stand firmly against the promoters of sedition.
