
WOAG branch in Malaysia convened an online seminar under the title of “Arabic Language Proficiency in Malaysia…Problems and Solutions” via Zoom.
The seminar tackled problems of Arabic language proficiency in Malaysia, the suggested solutions as well as the Organization’s role to improve the students’ command of Arabic in order to understand Islam correctly, away from exaggeration and extremism. The seminar also discussed the importance of convening periodical events in Arabic attended by students to improve their Arabic skills. The seminar also stressed the importance of memorizing Quran and reviewing it frequently, since it is the main source to improve the Arabic language. Indeed, al-Azhar graduates in Malaysia bear a huge responsibility to transfer the true Islamic teachings and knowledge to the Malaysian society. The seminar was attended by 100 participants from the Consultative Council, Malaysian Academics specialized in Arabic language and a number of students from Sheikh Zayed Center for Teaching Arabic Language branch in Malaysia. The participants, brilliantly, interacted with this seminar and shared the seminar’s live videos on their personal and official accounts. Several questions were posed and answered concerning the Arabic language problems in Malaysia and the role of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates WOAG in presenting the proper solutions.
