WOAG branch in Mali organized a lecture under the title of “Defining The Dangers of Terrorism on the Individual, Family and Society“, in al-Manhal Islamic School in Bamako, attended by 75 participants.
The lecture tackled the manifestations and dimensions of extremist and terrorist thinking, its impacts and dangers, as well as its effect on the individual and society. The lecture pointed out that extremism disseminates intellectual terrorism through promoting rumors and using the social media to spread religious intolerance, instigative discourses and narratives, declaring others as disbelievers (Takfir), adopting a sole view and spreading violence. Hence, terrorism and intellectual extremism affect the individual, family and the whole society and threaten their stability. The lecture stressed the role of the teacher and school to raise the students’ awareness, enhance the values of loyalty and national affiliation and explain to them the dangers of terrorism and intellectual extremism on individual and society.
