Inauguration of Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Bangladesh

Prof. Nazir Ayyad, Secretary-General of Islamic Research Academy, participated in the inauguration of the Bangladesh branch of al-Azhar Graduates in the capital Dhaka, in attendance of the Egyptian Ambassador Haitham Ghobashi, the Deputy of the President of University (Dhaka) Sheikh Sofy Mohammad Mizan Ar-Rahman, and a group of university leadership.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Prof. Ayyad sent the greetings of His eminence Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, asserting that al-Azhar spared no effort in the cooperation with all institutions and bodies to spread the moderate approach that strengthens concepts of peaceful coexistence among all people, achieves the public interest, propagates values and good morals, and raises human principles.

Furthermore, the Secretary-General said that al-Azhar with all its sectors is the destination of all scholars; It has never rejected any learners or failed to serve any Islamic or societal cause. Needless to say that al-Azhar does not only receive students in its institutes and university, but it sends also its envoys to various countries to introduce true religion without negligence or exaggeration.

Moreover, Ayyad clarified that al-Azhar is perfectly willing to train the imams and preachers from all over the world through specialized training courses organized by Al-Azhar International Academy for Training Imams and Preachers. Besides, al-Azhar provides them with libraries and international publications which help them in their journey in their quest for knowledge. During the meeting, the Secretary-General listened to the attendees’ questions asserting the readiness of al-Azhar to hold an academic partnership and establish an online platform under the supervision of al-Azhar to correct the misconceptions and propagate the true religion while the world suffers from spreading the deviant thought and stepping back from reviving and reconstruction that Allah wanted.
