
The World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in India delivered a lecture entitled “Honoring women in the life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)” in Aligarh University. It is worth mentioning that a large number of the University’s students and professors attended this lecture which is part of the efforts exerted by the Organization to confront extremist thoughts, correct misconceptions and spread moderate approach.
Prof. Saleem Mubeen Al-Azhari, President of the Organization’s Branch in India, pointed to the fact that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is a role model for all Muslims. He stressed that the life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is an evidence of good and humane treatment of women and that he preserved their status as a mom, a wife and a daughter. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) also urged Muslims to honor women and treat them well. Moreover, he highlighted the role played by Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif in the cause of women and in correcting misconceptions about their rights in Islam.
