The World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Nigeria delivered a lecture, attended by 50 students, entitled “Opposing offending scholars and lowering their status” at Al-Ghony Idrees Center for Quran Memorization in Maiduguri city of Nigeria. Prof. Ali Al-Ghony Idrees, President of the Organization Branch in Borno State, pointed to the drawbacks of offending scholars, lowering their status and accusing them of hypocrisy, since this is regarded as ghulu which contradicts with the essence of Islam. Moreover, Islam prohibited offending scholars and lowering their status as they are considered role models in Muslim societies that Muslims look up to and follow them.
