
The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates (WOAG) organized a training course under the title of “The Art of Radio and TV Diction”, at its headquarters, where a number of trainees of different specialties and ages participated in it.
Dr. Reda Abdul Wagid, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, al-Azhar University, said in the opening lecture: “Nowadays, we are living in an era called “Information Openness”, where a huge number of information are circulated over multiple media. Information spread everywhere and in all specialties due to the technological revolution and the massive evolutions in the field of communication”.
Dr. Reda highlighted as well the importance of choosing the proper words, in the light of such openness we are living in nowadays. He stressed the importance of truthful message and word, as Allah Almighty says: “Have you not seen how Allah has struck a similitude? A goodly saying is as a goodly tree, its root set firm and its shoots are in heaven”. [Q:14:24]
Dr. Reda explained that there is a number of factors that an anchorperson should enjoy, in order to be effective, which are as follows: to own the proper tools, to be objective and impartial, to be accurate and truthful in transferring information, to believe that media is a message and many other factors that may create a distinguished and successful anchorperson amid the momentum we are living in.
Dr. Reda concluded the lecture by praising WOAG’s efforts in qualifying the students in all fields, in order to join the labor market, especially in the field of media.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Osama Yaseen, WOAG Vice-Chairman and the anchorman, Mr. Saad al-Mat’ani, Head of Media Office at WOAG.
