The branch of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates in Somalia condemns in a statement the terrorist attack that targeted a hotel in Kismayo, southern Somalia, as nine people were killed and 47 were injured.
The statement said that killing innocent people is a criminal act that contradicts the teachings of Islam and other creeds, as Allah Almighty said: “Whoever slays a soul for other than a soul, or for corruption in the land, it shall be as if he had slain mankind altogether.” [Q. 5: 32].
Also, the Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said: “Avoid the seven destructive things. It was asked: “What are they, O Messenger of Allah?” He mentioned, the killing of someone without a just cause whom Allah has forbidden.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Furthermore, the statement stressed that the extremist groups aim to wreak havoc everywhere. Thus, Allah said, “Whoso slayeth a believer of set purpose, his reward is hell forever. Allah is wroth against him, and He hath cursed him and prepared for him an awful doom.”[Q. 4: 93].
The statement added that shedding the blood of innocent people is one of the grievous sins that necessitates hatred of Allah, and Islam protects the lives of all people. At the conclusion of the statement, the organization’s branch extends its deepest condolences to the victims’ families and wishes a speedy recovery for the injured
