WOAG branch in Cameroon organized a lecture under the title of “Quran is the Right Approach for Life”, at Sheikh Ismail mosque in the city of Ngaoundere, in which a number of youth participated. This came within the framework of the international campaign launched by the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates headquarters in Cairo, under the title of “Azharis against Extremism”.
Mr. Ali Mohammad Murtala al-Azhari, an imam and preacher, gave the lecture, in which he highlighted the broad lines drawn by Quran for every Muslim to live in peace and security. He stressed that the righteousness and integrity of religion cannot be achieved except by applying all the judgements of Quran, pointing out that the Islamic nation at present faces terrible campaigns and seditions that spread violence and extremism. Hence, the right interpretation of Quran is an urgent need to clarify its meanings to people. He stressed the necessity of challenging such deviated streams through adopting moderate intellectual approaches that go in line with Quran and Sunnah. Indeed, there is nothing like the moderate approach set by the holy Quran to fight such intellectual battle.
