The branch of al-Azhar Graduates in Pakistan held a lecture entitled “Status of al-Azhar ash-Sharif and its Role in Spreading Moderation” at Ruknul-Islam Jamia Mujaddidya in Karachi.
During the lecture, Mohammad Aslam Reda al-Azhari, Vice-President and Secretary-General of the Pakistan branch, referred to the status of al-Azhar and its leading role locally and abroad in spreading moderation and confronting extremist thoughts. Furthermore, he pointed out the Grand Imam’s efforts in maintaining the Islamic heritage and ensuring safety and security, as al-Azhar is the platform of religion, knowledge, moderation, and instilling tolerance values to protect the society from extremist thoughts. Besides, he urged the students to find a straight path, avoid bad and intolerant ideas, and avoid harboring terrorists and extremists. In addition, he added that the Pakistan branch presents a tolerant image and moderate approach to Islam.
