Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif welcomes the announcement by Norway, Ireland, and Spain recognizing the State of Palestine officially, a step that will come into effect on May 28. Al-azhar affirms that this is a courageous step acknowledging the legitimate rights of the Palestinians, “the due owners of the land”, to live in peace and stability, without persecution or occupation by a usurping occupier.
While welcoming and supporting this propitious and appreciated step, Al-Azhar encourages the rest of the countries and free peoples to take similar steps and support the Palestinian cause, recognizing the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to independence, freedom, and living safely in their land like other peoples. Al-Azhar also calls on the people whose countries support the usurping occupying entity to continue pressuring their governments to stop the deadly oppressive machine that is tampering with the lives of millions of innocents.
