Lecture for Al-Azhar Graduates in Bangladesh on “Learning Arabic in Bangladesh: Challenges and Solutions”

The World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Bangladesh, in coordination with “As-Salam Center for Arabic Language Teaching,” held a lecture on “learning Arabic in Bangladesh: Challenges and Solutions.”

The lecture was delivered by Sheikh Mohammed Saif Al-Islam Al-Azhari, Deputy Secretary General of the Branch and Director of As-Salam Center. In his speech, he pointed out the problems students face in the primary stage of learning Arabic in Bangladesh. He indicated that the weakness revolves around four points: “listening, speaking, reading, and writing.” He then presented several different methods for students to address Arabic language problems.

Likewise, he also stressed the importance of learning Arabic because it is the language of the Holy Quran, Hadith, and Islamic law. Furthermore, he noted that Arabic grammar was originally established for non-Arabs to facilitate learning, while Arabs speak it spontaneously. He added that other languages would eventually become extinct and turn into dialects, while the Arabic language will remain.
