Workshop for Al-Azhar Graduates in Somalia on “Extremism and its Danger to Individual and Society”

The World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Qardho-Somalia, in coordination with Al-Misbah Institute in Galkayo, held a workshop for students of Islamic institutes entitled “Extremism and its Danger to the Individual and Society.” The workshop was attended by some scholars, teachers, students, and their parents.

Sheikh Bashir Ali Saeed, Founder of the Institute and member of the Branch, emphasized the danger of extremism and how it destroys nations; highlighting its profound impact on individuals and societies. He stressed that adhering to the moderate, balanced approach is the way to escape this defect that has afflicted many people.

He also explained that true Islam commands us to follow moderation and avoid extremism, citing the words of Allah Almighty “Thus, We appointed you a midmost community that you might be witnesses to the people” [Q. 2: 143].
