‘The Status of Prayer and Its Impact on Reforming Individuals and Society’ A Lecture by Al-Azhar Graduates in Somalia

The branch of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates in Qardho, Somalia, held a religious lecture titled ‘The Status of Prayer and Its Impact on Reforming Individuals and Society’ at ‘al-Ilm” mosque.

The lecture referred to the importance of prayer as it is considered the pillar of religion. Whoever establishes it has established the faith. It is the spiritual and moral connection between the servant and Allah. It is the first act for which a person will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment. If it is sound, then the rest of their deeds will be sound, but if it is corrupt, then the rest of their deeds will be corrupt as well. It was the last advice given by the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) to his nation before his death. There are many questions related to prayer in Islam, among the most important are: What is the ruling on someone who abandons prayer? Is there a difference between someone who neglects prayer because they deny its obligation and someone who abandons it out of laziness? What is the ruling on someone who prays but disobeys Allah? Can your sins be forgiven by praying? What is the impact of preservation of the prayer on the individual and society? When does prayer become obligatory for a Muslim man or woman? How does a man pray with his wife and children in a congregation at home? What are the most common mistakes that many people make while praying? Is there a difference between establishing prayer and performing prayer? What is the prostration of forgetfulness, how is it performed, and when is it done? These are among the important questions that every Muslim man and woman should know.
