
The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Chad held a lecture entitled “The Concept of Hakimiyyah” at the Taqwa Retreat for Quranic Memorization in the capital N’Djamena, with the participation of 30 people.
Sheikh Mustafa al-Qouni al-Hur, member of the Organization’s Branch in Chad, explained during the lecture that the definition of Hakimiyyah in Arabic is the traditions and institutions that determine the exercise of power in a specific country. It includes the process of selecting governments, holding them accountable, monitoring them, their ability to efficiently manage resources as well as setting and implementing sound policies and rules while respecting citizens.
He pointed out that the definition of Hakimiyyah in terminology includes rulings, laws, legislation, and issues related to people’s lives.
