
Prof. Shouman: The Organization is ready to cooperate in all areas that support the promotion of moderation
Prof. Yahya Khalil: Utilizing the expertise of the Organization, translating its publications, and distributing them to schools
Prof. Abbas Shouman confirmed that His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, Sheikh of al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, is personally committed to supporting international students. He noted that the Organization is ready to cooperate with the Nahdlatul Ulama Organization in all fields that promote the consolidation of moderation and balance.
He also emphasized the need for concerted efforts by civil society institutions to confront extremist ideas.
He pointed out that al-Azhar ash-Sharif, along with all the entities under its supervision, is ready to provide support to promote the values of peaceful coexistence.
Prof. Shouman explained that the Grand Imam is committed to launching joint initiatives with other religious institutions at both local and international levels, including the Egyptian Family House, which has eliminated the term “sectarian strife” within Egypt, as well as the Document on Human Fraternity, which has become a model to be emulated around the world.
Moreover, Major General Wael Bekhit, Vice-President of the Organization, stated that safeguarding children and protecting young people from falling into the clutches of terrorism is one of the Organization’s top priorities.
Meanwhile, Prof. Abdul Dayyem Nusseir, Secretary-General of the Organization, emphasized that the Organization is committed to supporting Azhari graduates around the world in their efforts to promote moderation and balance, and to disseminate the Azhari approach.
For his part, Prof. Yahya Khalil, President of the Nahdlatul Ulama Organization, emphasized the Organization’s eagerness to benefit from al-Azhar and its graduates in spreading moderation. He also praised the visit of the Grand Imam to Indonesia and expressed his pride in this important visit, noting that the Organization will work to utilize the expertise of the al-Azhar Graduates Organization, translate its publications, and distribute them to schools affiliated with their Organization throughout Indonesia.
