Prof. Abbas Shouman, President of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates and Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars, along with the accompanying delegation, attended the inauguration ceremony of the ‘Association of Academics from al-Azhar Graduates’ in Java Governorate, Indonesia.
The Association aims to support the capabilities of al-Azhar graduates working in the field of education in Indonesia, enhance their skills, and establish a connection between al-Azhar graduates, the local branch of the Organization, and al-Azhar ash-Sharif.
Prof. Abbas Shouman, for his part, conveyed the greetings of Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, noting that international students hold a special place in the heart of His Eminence. The Grand Imam places great importance on the international students studying at al-Azhar.
Furthermore, Prof. Shouman praised the association’s establishment and emphasized the support of al-Azhar and its graduates’ organization for all Azhari graduates working in various fields.
His Eminence emphasized the important role of the Organization’s branch in Indonesia, led by Prof. Mohammad Zain al-Majd, noting that it is one of the most prominent and active branches abroad. He praised the dedication of those managing the branch in maintaining constant communication with al-Azhar and its scholars.
Moreover, Prof. Abbas Shouman urged those managing the Indonesia branch to prioritize supporting and caring for all Azhari graduates working in various fields. He emphasized the commitment of His Eminence, the Grand Imam Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, to supporting and caring for international students.
His Eminence also witnessed the launch of the database for Indonesian graduates of al-Azhar, praising the branch’s commitment to compiling the data of al-Azhar graduates in Indonesia. He called on the Organization’s branches worldwide to establish graduate databases, highlighting their importance in enhancing communication between al-Azhar and its graduates abroad.
A high-level delegation from the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates arrived in Indonesia, led by Prof. Abbas Shouman, President of the Organization and Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars; Major General Wael Mahmoud Bekhit, Vice-President of the Organization; Prof. Abdul Dayyem Nusseir, Secretary-General of the Organization and Advisor to the Grand Imam; and Ahmad Fawzi, Director of Foreign Branches Department.
The visit aims to enhance cooperation between the Organization and its branch in Indonesia, in line with the directives of His Eminence, the Grand Imam Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb. The goals are to promote moderation and balance, maintain communication between al-Azhar and its graduates in Indonesia, discuss the branch’s strategic approach, and address contemporary challenges and ways to confront them.
