
The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates’ branch in Pakistan is setting up to convene an awareness campaign under the title of “Azhari Flashes”, a reading in “Al-Qawl at-Tayyeb” book by His Eminence Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar. This activity comes pursuant to al-Azhar and the Organization’s joint approach to spread moderation.
In the same vein, Pakistan branch organized a seminar under the title of “The Danger of Takfir”, given by Dr. Aziz Mahmoud al-Azhari, Head of the branch and member of the Pakistani Council of Islamic Ideology. The seminar was attended by a number of scholars and sheikhs from all over Pakistan.
Dr. Aziz tackled what the Grand Imam stated in his book “Al-Qawl at-Tayyeb”: “The greatest scourge is to, carelessly, declare someone as a disbeliever (Kafir), believing that he/she is right about such serious judgment, and to exploit Islam in committing such crime that will definitely lead to greater crimes, such as: killing, assaulting, violence, offence and beating. Sadly, these crimes are permissible by whoever adopts such thought”.
The seminar witnessed the attendance of Sheikh Nazar Hussein Chandio, Arabic Lecturer at University of Sindh, Sheikh Shah Nawaz Zubiri, lecturer at University of Sindh, Sheikh Ragab Ali Skandari, preacher at the Pakistani governmental endowments and Sheikh Imran al-Azhari, a graduate from the Faculty of Usul al-Din, al-Azhar University.
