Al-Azhar Graduates in India: Youth Play a Vital Role in Society

The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates branch in India held an awareness lecture with students at the different educational stages. The lecture was given by Abdul Ahad al-Azhari, the branch Secretary in Bihar state and Professor of Hadith and Literature at Darul Hikmah, Jamia Rahmani, Munger Bihar.

Prof. Abdul Ahad highlighted in his word the moderation of Islam, where there is no exaggeration or excessiveness or extremism. Indeed, Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance, as Allah Almighty says: “Thus, We appointed you a midmost community that you might be witnesses to the people; and that the Messenger might be a witness to you”. [Q:2:143]

He stated that the Prophet (PBUH) was sent with moderation according which he taught his companions who took the responsibility to enlighten the world with his guidance and captivated people’s hearts rather than the lands. Hence, the Prophetic mission is a blessing from Allah Almighty to believers, as Allah Almighty says: “Truly Allah was gracious to the believers when He sent to them a Messenger from among their own to recite to them His verses, and to purify them, and to teach them the Book, wisdom, though before, they were in clear error”. [Q:3:164]

He added that the message of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is a mercy for all creatures, as Allah Almighty says: “We did not send you, except as a mercy to all the worlds”. [Q:21:107]. He stressed that the youth should avoid exaggeration and extremism and to adhere to moderation. He underlined that the youth should draw their religious knowledge from specialized scholars, while the scholars should teach them the good values and to save them from exaggeration and extremism. In fact, youth play pivotal role in building the society; thus, youth should possess good behavior and moderation.
