The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Nigeria held a lecture entitled “Islam is the religion of peace” in Arabic at Sheikh al-Ghoni Idris Zawiya in Borno State, Nigeria, with 100 people in attendance. During the lecture, Mustafa Abu Bakr Mustafa, a member of the Organization’s branch in Nigeria, explained that Islam is the religion of peace, brought by Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) from Allah to bring peace to the universe. Allah made peace a symbol and motto of Islam, described Himself with it and commanded the Prophet (PBUH) to apply it in all circumstances.
He said that Allah calls for the preservation of human life, religion, intellect, wealth and lineage, and has prescribed severe punishment for those who transgress against these five necessities, which represent the human entity.
He also explained that the Prophet (PBUH) called for the nurturing of souls to be at peace and faithful in Allah’s decree and in the humanity of others, so that everyone may live in peace.
