Awaaz TV Channel Hosts Member of “Al-Azhar Graduates” in India

Awaaz TV Channel interviewed Abdul Mu’eed al-Azhari, member of the Organization’s branch in India, in which he stressed that moderation is what distinguishes the Islamic nation. Indeed, it is moderation that makes the message of Islam eligible to witness to others, as Allah Almighty says: “Thus, We appointed you a midmost community that you might be witnesses to the people; and that the Messenger might be a witness to you”. [2:143]

In the same context, Abdul Mu’eed added that moderation is commendable and it is one of the fundamentals the Islamic doctrine and Shari’ah; in fact, moderation creates an ethical, social, political and cultural system that definitely leads to balance and stops the inclination to one party rather than the other. In other words, moderation holds back exaggeration and excessiveness.

Further, Abdul Mu’eed underlined that the Islamic history has been witnessing several cases of immoderation and excessiveness; yet, the whole Islamic nation settled on establishing moderation in all life aspects, whether the doctrinal, jurisprudential, intellectual, behavioral or political ones as well as the relation with non-Muslims. This is the mission of the diligent scholars and renovating imams who confute the misconceptions of the falsifiers, the ignorant and the extremists; indeed, the progress of the Islamic nation depends on upholding to moderation in all life aspects. In such vein, Abdul Mu’eed stressed that al-Azhar is the fortress of Islam and Muslims, as it has been keeping its call to maintain moderation for more than a thousand years; in fact, al-Azhar always urges renouncing all forms of violence; hence, we are in dire need to adopt the moderate approach of al-Azhar.
