A Member of Al-Azhar Graduates in Mali: All Religions Call for Peace and Reject Violence

The branch of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates in Mali held a lecture titled ‘The Attitude of Religions Toward Peace and the Rejection of Violence and Hatred‘ at Al-Amal School in Bamako. During the lecture, Shoaib Konate, a member of al-Azhar Graduates branch in Mali, highlighted the positive role of religions in promoting peace and rejecting violence and hatred among nations, particularly amid the spread of ideological extremism in religious circles.

He stated that the word peace is mentioned in the Bible, both in the Old and New Testaments, as well as in the Holy Quran. Moreover, all prophets, without exception, were messengers of peace, love, and compassion, as their teachings centered on promoting peace among nations. Furthermore, the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) embodied peace, coexisting with followers of other religions without causing them any discomfort.

He explained that Islam is a religion of peace and compassion among people.

This came within the framework of al-Azhar ash-Sharif’s directives to promote moderation, through an awareness campaign titled: “Azhari Flashes.. A Reading in the Book of the Good Saying, ” by His Eminence, Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar.
