A Student of Knowledge’s Responsibility toward their Community… An Awareness Lecture for Al-Azhar Graduates in Somalia

The branch of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates in Qardho, Somalia, held an awareness lecture for students of knowledge at Ilm Mosque, entitled “The Responsibility of the Student of Knowledge toward Their Community.” The lecture was delivered by Burhan Ahmad Issa, a professor of social sciences in Puntland schools and a member of the branch. He also presented an insightful academic and educational proposal based on the moderate Azhari curriculum, which integrates knowledge and practice, and aims to instill in students a sense of belonging and awareness of the vital social role of the student of knowledge.

This lecture came within the framework of the awareness and educational summer programs launched by the branch of the organization. The lecturer addressed the most prominent responsibilities of the student of knowledge toward their community, including contributing to the reinforcement of Islamic values, supporting social cohesion, and promoting cultural and religious awareness. He also cited examples from the biography of the Prophet (PBUH) and the lives of renowned scholars. The event witnessed strong attendance from students of knowledge, who actively engaged with the lecture through questions and discussions, demonstrating their awareness and readiness to carry the academic and preaching mission within their communities.

The organization reaffirms its commitment to implementing awareness initiatives that target various segments of society, with the goal of cultivating a generation that is conscious, knowledgeable, and spreads goodness.
