Al-Azhar ash-Sharif expresses its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the government and people of the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco for the victims of the floods that struck the city of Safi, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries. Al-Azhar asks Allah Almighty to bestow His mercy and forgiveness upon the victims and to grant their families patience and solace.
Al-Azhar ash-Sharif also affirms its complete solidarity with Morocco in this painful tragedy, praying to Allah Almighty to grant the injured a swift recovery and to protect Morocco and its people from all harm and misfortune. “Surely we belong to Allah, and to Him we will return.” [Q. 2: 156]
