Al-Azhar al-Sharif condemns, in the strongest terms, the treacherous terrorist bombing that targeted one of the houses of Allah in Homs Governorate in the Syrian Arab Republic during Friday prayers, which resulted in a number of innocent martyrs and wounded.
Al-Azhar affirms that such heinous terrorist crime represents a blatant assault on the sanctity of human life, which Allah Almighty has forbidden violating, and a flagrant violation of the sanctity and inviolability of places of worship. It is an evidence of the perpetrators’ complete absence of all meanings of mercy, religious, humanitarian, and moral values, their flagrant disregard for the value of human life, and their transformation into savages that threaten the security and stability of societies.
As al-Azhar al-Sharif offers condolences to the brotherly Syrian people in all their components, it calls upon Syrians of different sects and denominations to unite and stand together to confront this sinister plot that targets the security and stability of the country, seeks to spread chaos, and tampers with the unity of this authentic and venerable people, emphasizing the necessity of standing as one in facing this imminent danger.
Al-Azhar al-Sharif extends its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families of the martyrs and to the brotherly Syrian people, asking Allah Almighty to bestow His vast mercy upon the victims, grant the wounded a speedy recovery, and protect Syria and its people from all evil and harm.
