His Eminence the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, received Ambassador Haddad Abdel-Tawwab al-Jawhari, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad, at al-Azhar Sheikhdom.
The Grand Imam emphasized al-Azhar’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with various state institutions to alleviate burdens on students and their families and facilitate their affairs, helping them focus on acquiring knowledge. He also noted that al-Azhar never hesitates to provide its students and affiliates, both in Egypt and abroad, with all forms of support.
For his part, the Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs expressed his pleasure in meeting with the Grand Imam of al-Azhar and his appreciation for His Eminence’s tangible efforts in promoting the true image of Islam, refuting misconceptions, and consolidating the values of fraternity, positive coexistence, and world peace.
Ambassador Haddad presented to the Grand Imam the consular efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate matters for al-Azhar students—both Egyptian and international. Notably, an authentication office will be established in the City of Islamic Missions (Islamic Beouth City) in the coming months to assist international students enrolled at al-Azhar.
Moreover, the Assistant Foreign Minister noted that authentication offices function as direct, small-scale platforms for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to achieve effective communication, review complaints and requests, and address them efficiently and as quickly as possible.
