5,000 Meals… Al-Azhar Deputy Witnesses the Preparations for the Communal Iftar at Al-Azhar Mosque

Prof. Mohammad ad-Dweny, Deputy of al-Azhar participated with the international students in the communal Iftar held at al-Azhar Mosque’s courtyard. Al-Azhar Mosque organizes a communal Iftar for the third year for international students, providing 5,000 meals daily, totaling 150,000 meals per month. This comes within the framework of the humanitarian and religious role that al-Azhar undertakes in serving and caring for its international students, who are guests of Egypt.

Al-Azhar Deputy inspected the preparations for the communal Iftar before al-Maghrib prayer, which began immediately after al-Asr prayer. Furthermore, officials and workers at al-Azhar Mosque intensified their efforts to prepare the mosque’s courtyard to welcome the fasting individuals and to arrange the Iftar essentials in orderly rows, aiming to maintain orderliness and facilitate the Iftar process while preserving the mosque’s magnificent appearance that reflects its historical significance and grandeur.

It is worth mentioning that al-Azhar Mosque continues its academic and preaching plan during Ramadan month following the directions of the Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb including, (130 Quran sessions – 52 gatherings after al-Dhuhr prayer – 26 gatherings after al-Asr prayer – Tarawih prayer at al-Azhar Mosque and Islamic Beouth city – 20 daily rakah with the ten recitations – 30 lessons with Tarawih prayers – Al-Tahajud prayer at al-Azhar Mosque and Islamic Beouth city – Organizing 7 events related to Ramadan month – 5000 daily Iftar meals for the international students, reaching a total of 150000 meals throughout the holy month.
