Al-Azhar Graduates in Malaysia: al-Azhar is the First Islamic Institution to Confront Global Terrorism and Extremism

Mr. Wan Mohammad Bin al-Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Vice-Chairman of WOAG Malaysia, gave a word under the title of “The Uniqueness of Islamic Civilization”, at The National University of Malaysia. The word demonstrated examples of peaceful coexistence and mercy that distinguished the Islamic states throughout history, according to the testimonies of non-Muslims. Mr. Wan stressed that the righteous approach adopted by al-Azhar allowed it to be the first Islamic institution to confront the global terrorism and extremism. He highlighted that most of Takfiri groups, that caused destabilization in the societies they existed in, had never adopted al-Azhar wise moderate approach; however, their ideologies, disavowed by Islam, intend to declare their societies as disbelievers.

In the same context, Dato Wan emphasized that WOAG was attentive to such grave danger; hence, the Organization managed to issue several publications to refute the extremist ideas and correct the misconceptions about Islam, specially issues like al-Wala’ wal Bara’, al- Hakimiyyah, Jihad, Caliphate and others. He added that WOAG branch in Malaysia translated such publications, in addition to “The Good Saying” book by Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, in order to benefit the whole society.
