His Eminence the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, received today Prof. Abbas Shouman, President of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates and Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars, along with Prof. Noha Abbas, Editor-in-Chief of Noor Magazine, who presented the 2026 editions of the Noor book series.
His Eminence expressed his admiration for the publications and their diverse content, which includes children’s creative stories as well as academic and religious works. He commended the efforts exerted and the distinguished production of Noor Magazine, emphasizing his belief in the importance of culture for children and in providing enlightening content that reinforces national identity and instills noble values in young readers.
Notably, His Eminence recommended the formation of a permanent committee for children’s culture, bringing together representatives of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates, Noor Magazine, and al-Azhar Institutes Sector. The committee would be tasked with developing effective mechanisms to enable students of Azhari institutes—from kindergarten through the primary and preparatory stages—to benefit from Noor Magazine’s cultural output, including cartoon series, magazines, and both print and digital publications.
The committee would be co-chaired by Prof. Abbas Shouman, President of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates, and Sheikh Ayman Abdul Ghani, Head of the Institutes Sector.
