
As part of the community participation of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Kenya – Mombasa, Sheikh Faisal al-Amoudi, Secretary General of the Organization’s branch in Kenya, laid the foundation stone for a school in the city of Malindi. The event was attended by around 30 people.
On the sidelines of the event, Sheikh Faisal delivered a lecture entitled “The Importance of Education in Developing Societies,” During the lecture, he pointed out that religious education is of pivotal importance in societies, because it helps understand and appreciate different religions and beliefs, and it also teaches the common values and ethics among different religions, which enhances the sense of belonging to society and understanding.
He also emphasized that education is the path to self-development and the future road for societies, as it opens the door for various opportunities and identifies aspects of inequality. Education is also the cornerstone on which enlightened, tolerant, and sustainable development-driven societies are built.
