The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates branch in India held an awareness lecture for students entitled “Religious ghulu” delivered by Abdul al-Ahad al-Azhari, Secretary of the Bihar State Branch Office in India and a member of the Organization’s branch in India and Professor of Hadith and Literature at Dar al-Hikma at al-Rahmaniya University, Khanqah Munger, Bihar, India.
During the lecture, al-Azhari stressed that Islam is a religion of moderation, with neither excess nor negligence, and it does not recognize extremism or ghulu. Instead, it is a religion of peace, tolerance, and ease.
In addition, he pointed out that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was sent with moderation, and he raised his companions on this principle. They carried his guidance, illuminating the world and winning hearts before conquering lands. Thus, the mission of the Prophet (PBUH) was a blessing bestowed by Allah upon believers.
Al-Azhari called on Muslim youth to avoid extremism and ghulu and to return to moderation. He urged the youth to understand religion from sincere scholars, who are responsible for educating them on righteous values and saving them from extremism and ghulu. He also emphasized that youth has a pivotal role in society and should abide by good morals, moderation, and balance.
