Ahmad Barma Saed, a member of the Central African branch of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates stressed that Islam advocated tolerance and forgiveness among people, as these values strengthen human bonds and promote harmony and affection within society.
During a lecture organized by the branch, titled ‘Tolerance in Islam according to the Approach of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif,’ at the Taqwa Corner in the capital, Bangui, Saed emphasized that Islam upholds tolerance as a means to attain Allah’s satisfaction, forgiveness, and mercy, highlighting that true honor lies in granting pardon. He urged Central African Muslims to embody tolerance toward their fellow citizens and humanity at large. Furthermore, he explained that true tolerance involves letting go of the past and not dwelling on it, drawing inspiration from Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). As stated in the Holy Qur’an, Islam is a religion of kindness, mercy, forgiveness, and pardon. The life of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was a testament to forgiveness, representing the highest level of compassion and clemency that we should strive to emulate.
