WOAG Branch in Alexandria published a video under the title of “The Wrong Understanding of Quranic Texts“. This video came within the activities the Organization and its local branches carry out to confront the extremist thinking, correct the misconceptions and spread moderation.
Dr. Ibrahim al-Gammal, WOAG Vice-Chairman in Alexandria, and the General Director of the General Administration of Da’wa and Media Region at the Islamic Research Academy, said that the problem is not about the religious texts, however, it is about misunderstanding them and not believing in them while pretending to believe in them and not being certain of them. If Man is certain that Allah Almighty is “The Knower, the Hearer and the Seer”, which are by the way some of Allah’s qualities, his conditions will have changed, he will be satisfied and will do his best to keep away from sins because he is certain that Allah Almighty knows all about him/her. He pointed out that the terrorist groups’ misinterpretation of the religious texts comes within their scheme to recruit new elements, and we should warn against this misconception and distortion.
