The online training course for Algerian imams and preachers, which lasted for two weeks, was concluded at the headquarters of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates, in cooperation with Al-Azhar International Academy for Training Imams and Preachers.

Prof. Mohammad Al-Mahrasawy, Vice-Chairman of the Organization, started his speech by congratulating the trainees on the blessed month of Ramadan and conveyed to them greetings of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, for their efforts to learn from the pure sources of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, which filled the world with its moderate enlightened thought. He added that this training course opens the door to the correct teaching of religion, pointing out that the Organization launched the Manara Platform, which aims at establishing values of specialized education of Fiqhi sciences. The organization also opens the door for trainees to obtain specialized training courses in all Islamic sciences.

Prof. Al-Mahrasawy added that the Organization is about to open a branch in Algeria to intensify the training activities for imams and preachers. This indicates that the Organization opens its heart before its doors to receive trainees and provide them with all the seminars and training they need.

Osama Yaseen, Vice-President of the Organization, said, “I noticed the excellence of trainees, their keenness to benefit from the training course, and their love for Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and its tolerant sciences. We are fully prepared to provide them with all information and courses they need.”

For his part, Prof. Hassan Al-Sagheir, President of Al-Azhar International Academy for Training Imams and Preachers, said, “The relationship between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the scholars of Algeria is a strong one. Algerian jurists made great contributions through their academic heritage, especially about Islamic jurisprudence, until the great academic relationship was formed.  Since then, we began to add to them and they began to add to us.” He also pointed out that the mental image we have of Algerian imams is that they are distinguished imams who represent the moderate Azhari thought honorably. This representation was evident in Europe through their distinguished call in mosques in different European countries. Therefore, we are ready to receive more Algerians at Al-Azhar International Academy for Training Imams and Preachers.

Prof. Abdul Dayyem Nosseir, Secretary-General of the Organization, said, “Preserving the identity of Algeria was not an easy task. The cooperation between Al-Azhar scholars and Algerian ones was significant to preserve the Algerian identity as well as the Arabic language.” He also stressed that power is not only the power of armies, power is also represented in the integrity of thought and its establishment, which is what the Organization works to establish in all parts of the world, stressing that the stability of societies is one of the most important goals of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates.

At the end of the meeting, an open dialogue was held with the trainees to know how much they benefited from the training course and to answer their questions and requests. The leaders of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates confirmed the organization’s readiness to receive them at any time.
