WOAG Sohag participated in a religious meeting held in the military mechanical high school in Sohag city, during the morning assembly under the title of “The Virtues of the Month of Shaban“, in the presence of the school’s military commander and the teaching staff.
Dr. Abdul ‘Aati Mazeed, member of WOAG, explained that the deeds are taken up during the month of Shaban, that is why Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) singled out this month for fasting rather than other months, except the month of Ramadan. Usamah bin Zaid said:
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, I do not see you fasting any month as much as Shaban.’ He said: ‘That is a month to which people do not pay much attention, between Rajab and Ramadan. It is a month in which the deeds are taken up to Allah Almighty, and I like that my deeds be taken up when I am fasting”. ‘A’isha said “I never saw God’s messenger fast a complete month except in Ramadan, and I never saw him fast more in any month than in Shaban.”
